Fixed Type Switchgear
Product Overview
The Fixed Type Switchgear is a metal-enclosed medium-voltage switchgear assembly engineered for electrical power distribution, circuit protection, measurement, and control in industrial, utility, and infrastructure power systems.
Unlike withdrawable switchgear, the main switching device is secured in a fixed position inside the circuit breaker compartment. This fixed configuration is tailored for applications where the circuit breaker does not require a withdrawable mechanism for routine connection, testing, or isolation, thereby providing a rigid, high-integrity structural setup.
The switchgear integrates fixed-mounted vacuum circuit breakers with busbars, current transformers, earthing switches, protection relays, metering devices, and auxiliary control components within a compartmentalized metal enclosure.
Construction & Configuration
The switchgear enclosure consists of precision-formed steel panels and structural components. Al-Zn coated steel or other specified material configurations can be selected according to project requirements and installation environments. The cabinet is divided into functional compartments to isolate main electrical assemblies and control components:
Busbar Compartment: Accommodates the main copper busbar system processed to specified current ratings and electrical arrangements. Supported by high-strength insulating components and installed per approved drawings.
Circuit Breaker Compartment: Houses the fixed-mounted vacuum circuit breaker, current transformers, and operating mechanisms, eliminating the need for a withdrawable breaker truck or primary sliding disconnect contacts.
Cable Compartment: Provides adequate space for cable termination and medium-voltage components, accommodating XLPE cable connections, surge arresters, and optional top or bottom cable entry.
Low-Voltage Compartment: Houses protection relays, energy meters, terminal blocks, auxiliary components, and control wiring, separated entirely from medium-voltage zones.
Internal Partitioning: Metal partitions separate main functional areas to prevent fault propagation and ensure operational safety.
Key Features
Fixed-Mounted Vacuum Circuit Breaker: The main circuit breaker is bolted in a fixed position, ensuring stable, long-term low circuit resistance without contact wear from sliding parts.
Compartmentalized Construction: Designated functional compartments separate busbars, circuit breakers, cables, and low-voltage controls.
Medium-Voltage Adaptability: Configurations support 12 kV and 24 kV systems based on specific network requirements.
Mechanical Interlocking: Robust interlocking functions coordinate the operational sequence between circuit breakers, earthing switches, and compartment access.
Flexible Cable Arrangement: Top or bottom cable entry routes coordinate smoothly with project layout plans.
Protection & Measurement Integration: Incorporates CTs, protection relays, meters, and auxiliary controls according to the intended electrical scheme.
Project-Specific Engineering: Dimensions, busbar layouts, and feeder arrangements are custom-coordinated based on approved engineering documents.
