MNS Switch Cubicle
Product Overview
The MNS Switch Cubicle is a modular low-voltage switchgear and controlgear assembly designed for power distribution, motor control, circuit protection, measurement, and electrical control in industrial, commercial, infrastructure, and critical power systems.
The system uses a modular frame and functional-unit arrangement to accommodate fixed, plug-in, and withdrawable configurations. Depending on the project design, functional units can be arranged with defined service, test, disconnected, and removal positions. The cabinet can also be configured with different internal separation levels, including Form 3b and Form 4b, according to the required installation and maintenance arrangement.
With rated operational voltage up to 690V AC and main busbar ratings up to 6300A, the MNS configuration can be engineered around the required incoming, outgoing, motor-control, metering, and protection circuits.
The final configuration is determined from the project single-line diagram (SLD), feeder schedule, load requirements, breaker selection, short-circuit parameters, internal separation, cable entry, and installation conditions.
Construction & Configuration
The cubicle frame is assembled from 1.5mm or 2.0mm Al-Zn coated steel sheets, with the frame configuration selected according to the specified cabinet design. Mechanical joining methods are used for the modular frame assembly.
The main busbar system can be arranged at the top or rear of the cubicle according to the selected configuration. Distribution busbars are installed within insulated profiles or specified insulating components.
The main busbar system is available for ratings up to 6300A, while distribution busbar ratings can reach 1600A, subject to the verified configuration.
The modular system supports:
Fixed functional units
Plug-in functional units
Withdrawable drawer units
Incoming air circuit breaker (ACB) sections
Molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) feeder sections
Motor-control circuits
Metering and control units
Drawer dimensions can be arranged using the MNS modular E-size system, with E = 25mm. The exact drawer size, circuit arrangement, and functional-unit combination depend on the electrical design.
The enclosure can be configured from Form 3b to Form 4b. Functional units, busbars, and cable or terminal areas can be separated using metallic partitions, insulated barriers, or other specified separation components.
The selected Form level should be confirmed against the project's operational, maintenance, and safety requirements.
Steel components undergo degreasing, phosphating, and electrostatic powder coating. RAL 7035 light grey is available as a standard finish where specified.
Coating thickness and corrosion-resistance requirements are confirmed according to the applicable project specification.
Key Features
Modular Functional-Unit Configuration: The MNS system supports different combinations of fixed, plug-in, and withdrawable functional units within a common modular cabinet structure.
Flexible Distribution and Motor Control: Incoming breakers, outgoing feeders, motor-control circuits, metering units, and auxiliary control circuits can be arranged according to the project electrical design.
Service, Test and Disconnected Positions: Where withdrawable functional units are specified, defined operating positions can be provided for connection, testing, and isolation. The available positions and interlocking functions depend on the selected drawer mechanism.
Configurable Internal Separation: Form 3b and Form 4b configurations can be specified for projects requiring different levels of separation between functional units, busbars, and cable or terminal compartments.
Protection and Monitoring Integration: The cubicle can accommodate ACBs, MCCBs, protective devices, metering equipment, control components, and communication interfaces according to the required system configuration.
Project-Specific Engineering: The final arrangement can be engineered from the customer's SLD, load schedule, feeder list, breaker requirements, short-circuit level, cable entry arrangement, cabinet dimensions, and installation conditions.
